TruGreen will be out today applying a “weed and feed” to the 22 acre property, which helps the grass grow and stops some of the weeds. We do this 2 times per year, Spring and Fall.
For the past 3 years, we have been sending information notices to all residents/homeowners which state all dogs must be on a leash and under your control when on HOA common property. And yet, we still have people letting their dogs out the door and/or letting them wander our property and foul the common areas. The city of Grand Prairie will issue a fine of about $250 for a “dog at large”, per incident.
There is also a City ordinance that you MUST pick up after your dog(s) or you can be fined. It is the responsible thing to do, but few actually do it. The HOA has placed pet sanitation stations around the community, so please use them.
We also have Affidavits of Fact in the Office if you observe a loose dog or someone letting the dog wander off-leash. They do require that you can identify the owner of the dog so the City can go after the right person. Once you have the document filled out, Terry can Notarize it for you and you can drop it at Animal Control. They will then issue a citation.
A photo of the dog and owner is always helpful.
We are mowing the West side today, Tuesday, October 17, and will be mowing the East side on Wednesday, October 18.
Since the growing season is almost over, mowing will change to once a month, or as needed.
This is the second time this year that someone has put a bouncy house on the HOA’s common property. I have no idea why they think it is OK to do this. They neither rent nor own the common areas. Both times, I have notified the landlord that this is not acceptable and violates the CC&R. If someone were to get injured on our common property, it would end up getting put on our insurance.

We will have a Large item pickup on the West side on Thursday, October 12th. The East side will have a large item pickup on October 19th.
We will not pick up restricted items (like TV’s, paint or car batteries) or any construction debris. For those items, the city offers Household Hazardous Waste collection:
Registration is required and space is limited, so please register early. Register online or call (972) 237-8055 to register for the next Household Hazardous Waste collection event.
You can get information on what will or will not be accepted by the City at this link:
