Pool Schedule Has Changed

Beginning today, June 9th, 2015, we are changing the Pool schedule.  The Pool is open from 11 AM to 9 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.  Pool is closed on Monday and Thursday for chemical additions and other maintenance.

Sundays hours will remain 12 Noon to 8 PM.

No one under 18 year of age is allowed within the Pool area without Adult supervision. No Exceptions !!

 

Announcements for May 3

  • The Office will be closed all day Thursday, May 7th , and Friday, May 8th, so Terry can attend her daughter’s wedding out of town.  Please drop your dues payments in the drop box. I will be in and out of the Office both days and you can drop off payments then as well.
  • The Pool – We have our 2 pool monitors and we are getting the pool ready for the 2015 season.
    • We are tentatively opening the pool on May 16th (Saturday) and we are still working on the schedules (weather permitting)
    • As soon as we finalize things, we will post it here and at the Office.

Grand Prairie Holiday Info

City of Grand Prairie Holiday Schedule
In observance of Christmas and the New Year, the City of Grand Prairie administrative offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25, Friday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 1.  There will be no garbage or recycling collection on Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1.  More info.

Prairie Lights Glow at Lynn Creek Park
The always-popular two-mile drive featuring four million lights is now open at Lynn Creek Park, 5610 Lake Ridge Parkway, and better than ever with new custom displays.  Displays have audiences smiling in delight with clever new themes.  The out-of-car experience features concessions, carousel rides, gifts and photos with Santa.  More info.

The Polar Express Arrives in GP
Kids of all ages will enjoy the holiday classic The Polar Express as an interactive story as told by The Conductor.  He’ll visit Grand Prairie libraries on Tuesday, Dec. 23, and will entertain with singing and dancing.
11 a.m. – Main Library, 901 Conover Dr. – featuring mini train ride
1:30 p.m. – Warmack Branch Library, 760 Bardin Rd. – featuing mini train ride
4 p.m. – Shotwell Branch Library, 2750 Graham St. – indoor program only

Twelve Strays of Christmas

Give the ultimate gift to a homeless animal this holiday season during the Twelve Strays of Christmas adoption special from now-Dec. 24 at Prairie Paws Animal Adoption Center, 2222 W. Warrior Trail. On Dec. 18, animals will be available for adoption for $18. This fee will increase by $1 daily as Dec. 25 approaches (the fee will correspond with the day’s date). The shelter’s operating hours will remain unchanged, and it will be closed Sundays and Mondays. The shelter is full, and many of its animal guests urgently need new homes.  More info.

2014 City Holiday Ornament
The annual custom-designed 2014 City of Grand Prairie holiday ornament is hand made this year by Rebecca Jensen, wife of Mayor Ron Jensen.  Mrs. Jensen used paper and other natural elements to fashion cones of holiday cheer featuring branches, pennants, glitter and cloth.  The ornaments may be purchased for $10 benefiting the Lone Star Charitable Foundation.  More info.

Christmas Tree Recycling Drop Off
Christmas tree recycling collections will be Friday, Dec. 26 – Monday, Jan. 12.  Drop off locations include:
