The pool is closed today for maintenance, following the large amount of people who used it on Saturday. The water is cloudy, it needs to be treated with chemicals and vacuumed several times. No one can swim in it until it is properly maintained. The BBQ grill area was also left in disarray and must be cleaned up; I think we will start charging a clean up fee/deposit for those who want to use it, so we can pay someone to clean up after them if they fail to cleanup after themselves.
Plus, after being open about 2 weeks, we are having problems with our residents and guests not listening to and disrespecting the pool monitors, starting fights, and generally disturbing everyone that lives in the general area of the pool. People having fun is totally acceptable; people yelling and swearing at each other, trying to start fights and other total nonsense will not be tolerated.
Any homeowner, renter, their families or guests who cause a disturbance will be asked to leave the pool. Anyone causing two such disturbances will be banned from the pool until opening day next year.
Great! I recommend a printed version to be available in a plastic protector read by those at the pool upon sign in. Otherwise if they do not subscribe to your news letter, it will fall on deaf ears if verbally informed.
Also, wearing under garments and not swimwear should not be permitted.

I have ordered a sign.
Thank you and you are appreciated MORE than you know for this decision. There was ALSO trash spewed in the common area…beer cans, bottles and more which I, personally, filled a bag with when I picked up yesterday. It is a shame it has come to this. In years past there was a Board Member who also took care of the pool and lived beside it who was able to keep it in check when it became too much for the monitors and she did not tolerate that behavior and could hear it from her home and stepped outside. Her presence is sorely missed for MANY reasons. I think it is overwhelming for a young monitor to take on groups of 30+ kids and sometimes even adults who descend on the pool with no respect for authority. Perhaps an adult’s presence for support would help as it has in the past; an adult who is not afraid to speak up. I do not claim to know the solution, but I know what has worked in the past. It is a shame that there are those who have no respect for the blessings that we have here and ruin it for others. For what it is worth, I, personally will support you in any way I can in this decision. Again, thank you.
