More Electrical Work on West Side

J&S Underground Networks, Inc. and Pike Electric will be on property next week doing some extensive work on the underground electrical cables running across the entire West side of the property, from West Creek Lane to West Mountain Lane.

They are replacing the feeder cables between transformers, and in some cases, the transformer itself. Most of these cables and some equipment are the original installed in the early 1970’s. Conduits will be installed with a hydraulic boring machine so they can more easily replace cables in future.

They estimate they will be working for a little over a week.

“Flushable” Wipes in our Sewers

We have posted this before but we still have people flushing these wipes (and other stuff that has no business being flushed) which results in the sewer line being blocked. We come out to unblock the line and pull up all kinds of products.  Below is a post from the City of GP’s website. These wipes also cause a lot of problems at the waste treatment plant.

Keep Wipes Out of City Wastewater System

Do you use wet wipes that claim they are flushable? These wipes are actually not flushable and can cause harm to plumbing and wastewater systems because they do not disintegrate after flushing. Instead, they wrap around other flushed wipes and debris, damage pumps at the wastewater plant, and have to be removed from wastewater screens and lift stations.

Wipes also create clogs in main wastewater lines and customer lines that have to be manually removed because fats, oil and grease deposit on them.

Toilet paper disintegrates almost immediately, but the strong-fiber wipes cause havoc in city wastewater lines and at wastewater plants.

When using flushable wipes, please throw them into the trash, and do not flush them down the toilet. This keeps the wastewater lines clear and helps avoid costly clog removal at your home and the wastewater plant.

If we find a sewer blockage at your property caused by flushing wet wipes, paper towels, diapers or other such items, we will bill you for our time and trouble.

Electrical Work on West Mountain Lane

Novimium, an Oncor contractor, will be doing some work on a transformer on Monday, June 11th. This will effect parts of West Mountain Lane.

They will have the power back on as soon as they can. They are out here upgrading the transformers/underground cables.

And they will be changing iut this old style transformer sometime in the future.,

2018 Pool Season

The Pool will be opening on May 25th at 3 PM.  Pool season closes on September 3rd, Labor Day.

There is a change to the cost for pool passes, however. We are now charging $10 per year for a pool pass, per household.

Those who have already paid their $5 for a previous pool pass will only need to pay another $5 for the 2018 pass. Those members that have never had a pool pass before will need to pay $10.

We will continue to change the pool passes every year. Ours is a private pool for the sole use of our HOA members and their guests.

From NTTA: Bridge Closure

Full Closure of Mountain Creek Lake Bridge May 4 – May 5

In April, crews began a yearlong project to upgrade the Mountain Creek Lake Bridge, including the replacement of the Toll Gantry. This weekend, the existing gantry will need to be demolished for work to continue.

To complete this work, east and westbound bridge traffic will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, May 4, through 8 p.m. Saturday, May 5. During this time, traffic will be detoured south to Interstate 20.

If you have additional questions, please contact NTTA directly via email at projects@ntta.org or by calling 972-628-3134. You can also visit www.ntta.org to see a list of current and upcoming closures related to this project.

Syringes on West Side

So far this week, we have found 3 syringes on the West side of the property, specifically in the area of West Mountain Creek Drive. One was found near the front of 58, another near 46, and another near the tree at the end of West MC Drive. They did appear to be used, the last one had the plunger out of it, but the needle was still there. Fortunately, all of them were capped, BUT they still pose a bio-hazard.  All 3 were gathered up by GPPD and they have patrolled the area a bit more.

Please advise kids not to play with these things; call the non-emergency number (972-237-8790) if you find a syringe on property, please.
