The Pool Is Closed

The Pool was closed today at around 3PM. This was prompted by someone’s child defecating in the pool. We cannot allow anyone to swim following this event.  The Pool will remain closed until next season.

Sunday’s Pool Opening Issues

We would like to apologize for the Pool not opening on schedule at 12 Noon. The monitor scheduled to open was originally going to be late, but ended up as a no-show.  We found out about it around 3:30PM.  One of the maintenance guys was scheduled to relieve the pool monitor at 4PM, and the pool was opened then. But, due to the confusion, there were very few people going to the pool that afternoon. So, we eventually closed the pool about 7PM.

We have had nothing but trouble trying to find reliable Pool monitors. In the 2015 Pool season,we have had 6 or 7 monitors primarily due to almost all of them not being very interested in working.  For the life of me, I cannot figure out why because this is probably one of the easiest jobs around and paid above minimum wage. All one had to do was check to make sure the people were residents or guests and get a suntan. On occasion, they had to enforce the rules.

We also had a BIG problem early in the season with large numbers of individuals using the pool who were not residents or guests and who refused to listen to the monitors. They just happened to show up in large numbers and in a few instances, we had to call the Police to get them out. I imagine this put an excessive strain on the monitors and may have influenced the lack of interest. This problem was solved by reinstating the Pool Passes and we have not had this problem since.

Photos of the Leak

Here’s what the leak looks like, under the tree.  This tree is about 35 feet tall and ended up directly over a water line.  This is the result many years later. Now you know why we require everyone to get permission before they plant things in the Common Area.

Water should be back on after noon.

Update on Water Leak, East Townhouse Lane

The water leak on East Townhouse is also effecting the 2 stories on East Creek, as well as the single stories on the North side of East Creek Drive.  The guys started work early this morning and are still digging to find the broken pipe, but they are being hampered by the fact there is a huge Pine tree growing over the water lines.  They are having to dig and cut away tree roots to gain access to even ascertain the problem. This could take a while judging from the size of this tree.

We hope to have this fixed today but that all depends on when we can get access to the affected water pipes.  We will keep you advised.

Parking Permits

Homeowners who have been approved for Visitor Parking Permits need to come pick up their stickers ASAP.  We still have over 10 homeowners who have not paid and gotten their stickers.

One final warning will be placed on vehicles in the visitor lots that we know belong to owners or tenants and these vehicles will be towed beginning next week.

More than ample warnings have been given since 2014, so you cannot honestly say you are unaware that you cannot park there. Signs have been up for many years stating the Visitor lots are for Visitors Only.  We have already notified Excalibur Towing and will be ready to begin towing these unauthorized vehicles.

We still have Permits available for those who meet the qualifications. Come to the Office and fill out an application form.
