Month: March 2017

Here’s why we asked residents to cut their trees…..

The storm last night demonstrates why we asked our residents to trim the trees on their property, and why we ask for proof of homeowner’s insurance. The tree below damaged the fence and landed on the house next to it.  This tree appears to have been dead for a while. Since this tree damaged the fence adjacent to common property, the homeowner is responsible to replace that fence.

Garage-Estate-Moving Sales

I noticed we had a few sales going on this weekend and had vehicles parked in the Fire Lane. If you are planning on having a sale at your property, you are responsible for where people park. You also need to get the proper permits from the city of GP prior to the sale.

While we do understand you cannot control everything, please advise those who visit your sales that they can be towed and charged around $300+ to get their vehicles back.

New Trees Arriving on Monday

On Friday, we took a drive to the local tree nursery near I-20 and 820, we bought 10 trees which will be delivered on Monday sometime. We decided to go with the Chinese Pistache, a drought resistant tree, the same as the 2 trees between the Office and the Pool (near West Mountain Lane). They will provide a lot of color in the fall when the leaves turn.

Here are a few photos of this tree and some info:

Long–lived, winter hardy shade tree with spectacular red, red–orange fall color. Outstanding heat, drought and soil tolerance. Extremely pest resistant. A near perfect shade tree for one–story buildings.

Hardiness: Zone 5

Exposure: Full sun

Size: Height — 40 feet tall; width — 30 feet wide

A few changes to our website

There are a few things that were moved around today and were put onto their own page.  The menu has a new item listed, “Homeowner  Information and Notices” which shows our “New Owner Welcome Package/Quick Start”, Informational Notices and 2016 Quarterly Reports.

The “Quick Start” is a condensed information package for new homeowners; please refer to our Governing Documents for complete information.
