\u00a0Swedish home furnishings retailer, IKEA<\/strong>, will open a 293,000-square-foot store east of SH 161 at Mayfield Road, north of Interstate 20.\u00a0 Pending approvals, construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2016, with an opening in 2017.

Raising Cane’s<\/b> will begin construction in 2016 on a new restaurant at Camp Wisdom and Magna Carta.<\/p>\n

Dairy Queen<\/b> plans to build a new restaurant west of SH 360 and north of Green Oaks in 2016.<\/div>\n

\niHop<\/b> is building a restaurant on SH 360 and Camp Wisdom in front of the On the Border restaurant.<\/div>\n

\nConstruction is scheduled to begin in 2016 on a newWalMart<\/b> west of SH 161 between Arkansas Lane and Pioneer Parkway. It will include a grocery store, retail and an automotive center. The city expects restaurant development in the near future on the 11 out lots near the store.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\nAldi<\/b> is planning a new grocery store at Great Southwest Parkway and Bardin Road beginning in 2016.<\/div>\n

\nQT<\/b> is set to begin construction soon on a store on the southeast corner of Lake Ridge and Interstate 20.<\/div>\n

Have a very Prairie Christmas in downtown Grand Prairie. The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place at City Hall, and will include choral entertainment from students in the Grand Prairie Independent School District.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The festivities will include the ever-so-excellent GPISD elementary school ensemble, middle school carolers and high school choirs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The students will raise their voices to ring in the season and light the tree at City Hall starting at 6 p.m.<\/div>\n
